Many will think this pairing is unlikely, being that Jasmine writes urban fiction and Perri writes women’s fiction, but it really isn’t all that unlikely at all. What many readers may not know is that Perri also writes urban under the pseudonym, Xuri Foxx.

 

The authors have more than the writing in common, it’s not uncommon to find the two on the phone discussing long-term literary plans and how they aspire to take their writing to the next level. It’s not a surface goal for them, and although both authors have graced the charts of Amazon in top spots, it’s the New York Times bestseller’s list that they someday wish to claim as an accomplishment.

 

The idea for Beautiful Vengeance came when Perri had a thought. “If given the chance, would you avenge the murder of someone you loved?” That question, along with heightened emotions around police killings that just plagued the nation, served as the backdrop for this story that unfolded in two weeks.

 

The authors were on the phone every day as they collaborated and the partnership was flawless. Jasmine would write a section and then they’d discuss the details of that section. And then the same process would be repeated with Perri. The dedication was more than either had counted on. And even though they knew that the passion for the story would carry them to completion within a timeframe that’s ordinarily impossible to reach with a full length novel, it was still a shock when it was done and sent to editing within thirteen days.

 

The hope is that the story will encourage conversation, and more importantly, show readers that there are two more very talented authors who may have yet to be discovered.
